I would like to share my experience with upgrade SSD in my 2-years old MacBook Pro (Retina 15“, Mid 2015 — MacBookPro11,5 ). Old SSD was original Apple 500GB. New one is Samsung SSD 960 PRO. Steps to Uninstall Apps from Mac PC: If you are willing to know the right way of uninstalling applications from your Mac then you have come to the right place. Go through the steps below and you will be well aware of the procedure. The first thing that you need to do is open the Launchpad on your Mac device. Aug 22, 2019 Disk Speed Test is an easy SSD Test tool to use with your Mac that can use to measure and certify your disk quickly. Starting the test with a simple click is easy. Disk Speed Test will write test data your disk using large blocks of data and then display the result. Samsung Memory got back to me this morning with the 1.6.2 software and the uninstall instructions. The script produced some interesting messages - like it couldn't find anything or remove anything, but the PortableSSD folder disappeared/got deleted and I could install 1.6.2 again.
Let’s say you want to give or sell your Mac to someone, but you are worried about the security of your sensitive data saved on it. Even though you have deleted files from Mac and even emptied Trash, the erased data can be retrieved luckily (or unfortunately?) with the help of data recovery technology.
Thus, you want to permanently delete files from your Mac, as you don’t want the person who uses your Mac further to retrieve your data.
But, now we are at 2017 and is it still the same condition we are in? Of course not! It’s the era of SSDs (Solid State Drives). Now, most of newly put up Mac computers have built-in SSDs or Fusion Drives (some iMac prototypes), rather than traditional hard disk drives (HDD).
There is a valid reason for Apple adopting new SSDs in place of HDD; it’s due to the advantages of SSDs over HDDs. And, the same reflects when it comes to deletion of files on macOS depending on whether your Mac is using a traditional HDD or a brand new SSD. How? Well, here you go.

Little effort is more than enough to completely remove files from your Mac if you are using an SSD. This is due to the way a Solid-State Drive works. SSDs function pretty different, when compared to traditional hard disk drives.
Specifically, Solid State Drives use TRIM command. This is to overcome the slowdown times that normal spinning hard drives experience. Trim allows Mac to instantaneously wipe unused data blocks, which created once you erase files on the Mac by emptying Trash, or using Command and Del or Command + Opt + Backspace keys. This technique not only speeds up the data access process but, also makes it impossible for anyone to restore deleted files from the Mac SSD.
How to Permanently Erase Files On a Mac SSD?
Step 1: Drag files that you want to delete permanently into the Trash folder.
Step 2: Later, empty the Trash folder completely.
That’s it. If you are running El Capitan or macOS Sierra, then you will have a new feature Delete Immediately. And, this allows you to bypass Trash to delete items faster than before. However, if you are still concerned about deleted files (if you doubt they can be recovered), then use any drive wiper application available online. Permanently erasing files from Mac SSD is quite easy and simple thing to do. However, I want to recap that before you proceed to permanently erase files on Mac SSD, ensure that you are removing those files which you really don’t want. And, never forget to back up important files too!

If you have used a USB external Samsung SSD drive, your computer may display a message at startup similar to the one shown here.
This message is annoying and seemingly unnecessary. If you go to Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs, you might not see any Samsung software listed. So, there will be no obvious way to remove the software and prevent this pop-up message.
Instead, what you’ll need to do is install the latest version of the Samsung SSD software. During the installation process, all older versions of the software will be removed. Then, once the new software is installed, you’ll find it listed in the Control Panel > Add Remove software list, and you can remove it.

The software would have been on your new Samsung hard drive when you purchased it. If you’ve formatted your drive or erased those files, click here to download the latest Windows version of the Samsung Portable SSD T5 software.
